I had an interesting experience at the Spokane Temple. As you can see, I arrived there just at sunset. I shot a picture or two, then walked around the building looking for interesting angles, and also looking for a door which I had been told every temple has. It is the door they believe Christ will enter on the last day, I think. I had found the door on the Boise Temple, and was seeing if this one had one also.
I noticed a young lady taking her camera out of her camera bag so I said something like, "Great minds run in the same channel!" To my surprise she was talkative so chatted as we walked around the building. She said whenever she is in a city with a temple, she always photographs it. "That's what I do!" I exclaimed. She asked me if I had found the door. "That's just what I was looking for!" [I am informed by several correspondants that "the door" is a myth, that there is no door which Christ will enter on the last day; that these doors are entrances to mechanical equipment.]
Her husband joined us, and we talked about the temples for a whilethe door, the angel, the orientation, which ones we had visited. They had been married at the San Diego Temple. My encounter with this nice young couple made photographing the Spokane Temple very enjoyable.
