The Monticello Utah Temple

Way over in the southeastern corner of Utah stands the Monticello Temple, the first of the "small" temples. They are being built to serve isolated groups of Mormons who would not be able to justify a larger temple, but who live too far away from one to travel to it often. When it was built, the Monticello Temple was the smallest of the temples; it has since been enlarged somewhat.

The people roundabout Monticello seemed to be quite excited about having a temple of their own. Prior to its construction, the nearest ones were about 250 miles away. The Monticello Temple is the smallest of all the temples.
