Deer

Deer are hard to photograph because of their protective coloration and their skittishness. My home in Brookings had a large open field surrounding it, and there were deer there much of the time. I'd open the drapes in the morning, and there'd be deer right outside the window. But in the time it takes to get the camera, they'd be gone.

After wasting I don't know how much film over the years, I finally got this shot. It's not perfect, but it's not bad, either.
