The Three Sisters and Broken Top

I know it looks like there are at least five sisters there, but trust me. These are actually South Sister, Middle Sister, North Sister, Broken Top, and a couple of other small mountains.

Although Indians never actually made their homes in this region, they did camp here autumns, taking advantage of the area's plants, animals, and obsidian. They probably thought of the peaks being a "family" of mountains also. Early white pioneers named the three mountains Faith, Hope, and Charity. They have had other names, also. In the area, there are mountains named Bachelor, Wife, Husband, Little Brother, etc. And there are towns nearby named Sisters and Brothers. I think someone had a fixation.
