Hotel Utah

The old Hotel Utah is no more. Well, the building is still there, minus the neon, but it is an office building for the LDS church.

In its heyday, Hotel Utah was one of the grander hotels of the western US. Every President of the US since William Howard Taft stayed there, plus movie stars, church leaders, and practically everybody else on train trips across the country.

A few years ago, when train travel declined, so did Hotel Utah. The church, which owned it already, remodeled it sumptuously into an office building.

More about the Hotel Utah.

Neon signs make really good photos, especially on slides. Digitized they are OK too.
